Patience pays off when photographing animals.    Wait for the expression that sets your photo apart.   The eyes connect us to the photograph so waiting until the animal is looking at you can really pay off.   We can take hundreds of photos, but the best will be when the animal’s eyes are engaging  the viewer.

Take your time when you come upon an animal that is located in a good position, has good light and is interested in their surroundings.   They will look at you and that is when you want to capture your image.

Waiting until the animal looks at you can make a strong image.

Patience will pay off for these images.   Please do not get impatient and yell at the animal or pound on the glass to get their attention.   Let’s enjoy the experience of engaging with the animals while we take pictures.
